Lancing Parish Council and Adur Voluntary Action have teamed up to present an engaging event this Halloween: Lancing Pumpkin Fest! This celebration will take place on Thursday, 31st October, at Lancing Parish Hall, where we aim to give unwanted pumpkins a second life.

Join us for a community feast featuring delicious dishes made from rescued pumpkins, along with a variety of fun pumpkin-related activities and recipe cards. Our goal is to inspire the Lancing community to embrace pumpkin consumption and reduce food waste during this festive season. As part of Hubbub’s #EatYourPumpkin campaign, we are encouraging everyone to switch from carving to decorating pumpkins this year. Did you know that by doing so, more pumpkins can be enjoyed instead of ending up in the bin? In 2023 alone, over 9,000 people participated in similar events!

To add to the excitement, we will also have pumpkin decorating activities at our Lancing Halloween Fayre on Saturday, 26th October—the perfect lead-up to our main event!

Pumpkins are not just great for decoration; they can provide up to six meals and are excellent in soups, curries, and pair beautifully with flavours like ginger, chili, and sage. Let’s work together to make the most out of these wonderful veggies!
