Committees

Committees focus on specific areas and report to full council, Full Council usually meets on the third Wednesday of each month. This enables smaller groups of councillors with specific areas of expertise and interests to be more involved and to ‘get things done’. Our committees are:

Amenities, Environment and Community Committee

The Amenities & Environment Committee is responsible for all matters concerning allotments, beaches and foreshore, car parks and open spaces.

They meet the first Wednesday of the month every two months in Lancing Parish Hall, members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings.

Councillors serving on this committee:

Cllr Douglas Bradley, Cllr Ann Bridges, Cllr David Devoy, Cllr Kathryn Penny, Cllr Gill Purnell and Cllr James Strudwick.

Terms of Reference – ACE Committee

Finance & General Purposes Committee

The Finance & General Purposes Committee is responsible for all matters concerning finance, administration, assets (including Parish Hall) and Council employees.

They meet every four months on a Wednesday in Lancing Parish Hall, members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings.

Cllrs Douglas Bradley, Cllr David Devoy, Cllr Sharon Sluman and Cllr James Strudwick.

Terms of Reference – Finance Committee

Planning Committee

The Planning Committee considers all planning applications for Lancing and make recommendations to Adur District Council.

They meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month in Lancing Parish Hall, members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings.

Cllrs Douglas Bradley, Cllr Liz Haywood, Cllr Ann Bridges and Cllr Mandy Buxton.

Terms of Reference – Planning Committee

Human Resources Sub-Committee

The Human Resources Sub-Committee is to oversee matters relating to Council employees in line with relevant legislation and the Council’s employment policies on behalf of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
